Regarding the conclusion of a “collaboration agreement to protect Kyoto against terrorism” with the Kyoto Prefectural Police

DSC_1307_2

Today, Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Kyoto Prefectural Police concluded

a collaboration agreement against terrorism.

This agreement is one element of efforts by police, administration and private groups representing all of Kyoto to protect Kyoto against the diversifying threat of terrorism, in consideration of the recent increase in foreign tourism and in preparation for many upcoming international meetings and events, including the 2016 summit and 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

In both MICE and tourism, the elements of “safety and security” are among the most important items in selecting a location, and the conclusion of this collaboration agreement between Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau (which has at its purpose, promoting and attracting foreign tourism and MICE events to Kyoto) and the Kyoto Prefectural Police makes a strong statement about the safety of Kyoto and Japan.

Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau will strive to attract even more MICE events to Kyoto with the cooperation of the Kyoto Prefectural Police Headquarters.
