Originally launched in 2013, the Muslim Friendly Kyoto website offers information like where to get halal food, the location of Kyoto’s mosque and other places to pray, Muslim friendly hotels, the direction of quibla, and other basic information about Kyoto that is helpful for Muslim visitors. Even Kyoto’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nijo-jo Castle offers a place Muslim visitors.

Kyoto’s convention facilities are experienced in setting up prayer rooms for Muslim visitors when requested.

Muslim visitors will also be pleased to find special souvenirs especially designed for them throughout the city like high quality hijab and prayer rugs made by Kyoto’s traditional textile artisans.
